Hi I’m Kendra! I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember.
Here you can see me at around four years old with my great-grandparents, posing with my alien drawing.
I was always doodling, in class, in my notes, or anywhere else I could get away with it.
I was lucky to attend a high school with a wide range of art classes, so I got to experiment with ceramics, 3D design, printmaking, graphic design, typography, art history, and plenty of other materials and techniques.
Since then, I’ve kept learning by experimenting, making things, and following whatever idea has my attention.
-
Animals, portraits, and whatever the idea needs.
Today I work with acrylic paint, gouache, watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, and pyrography. My subjects are usually animals, although I also create human portraits. My work shifts between detailed realism and playful ideas.

Making art helps me feel more like myself.
I’m neurodivergent, and creating is part of how I stay connected to myself. When daily life gets loud enough to crowd out creativity, I can feel my own light dim. Art brings some of that light back.
Art by K. Richter is me betting on my skills, my ideas, and the possibility that the things that bring me joy can bring a little more joy to people everywhere.
